About HorseGirl
My real name is Erin McCabe, but back in Junior High, a boy I had a crush on started calling me HorseGirl. Maybe I should have been offended, but I wasn’t. I’m still not. When other girls outgrew their obsession with horses, mine just kept right on growing. I have a husband, one dog, two three horses, and three cats.
Two years ago, I decided to quit teaching high school English so I could go to grad school to get an MFA in Creative Writing. I kept my job teaching horseback riding to (mostly) girls, so now I get to spend my days doing the things I love most: hanging out at the barn teaching and riding or hanging out at home reading and writing.
If I can do this blog thing right, you’ll be able to read about Horses, Teaching, Writing, and see my Album of Annoying Things. Hopefully there will be ribbons, a-ha moments, a book contract for my novel, and fewer annoying things mixed in with the inevitable bruises, mud, and rejections. Hopefully I’ll be able to keep everything all tidy in nifty little sections. Hopefully there will be photos (or the Annoying Things section just will not work). But first I have to figure out all this technological stuff.
